Character Development: Blue Mountains

If you’re stuck with something in your story, sometimes it’s a good idea to go off “the beaten path,” so to speak.

Maybe your character comes to the base of these mountains.

  • What’s on the other side?
  • What could happen during the trek across these mountains?
  • How will your character handle any obstacles?
  • How does your character feel emotionally about the difficult task of crossing these mountains?

When you get stuck with a character or situation, it can be very helpful to put them in scenes they wouldn’t normally be in. This does not have to go in your story. It’s just a way to get to know your character better and get those creative juices flowing. You could learn a lot about your character that is pivotal to your story.
